I've recently installed openbsd on my tibook, and figured it'd be good to update the page with basic info on what steps I used to get everything working. I also explain how to get XFree86-4 working in 24-bit mode (as opposed to the ugly 8-bit framebuffer mode ;-). I still need to post up some stuff about setting up NetBSD, but most of the info needed is on the netbsd site or on mailing lists. Anyway, take a look and send me any comments if you find it useful.

. screamingCobra v1.00 released
Any CGI that doesn't check arguments that are passed to it over the web are possibly vulnerable to attacks which allow a malicious user to get read access to almost any file on that system, if not access to execute programs. screamingCobra is almost always able to find those bugs REMOTELY due to the common errors programmers make.
screamingCobra is an application for remote vulnerability discovery in ANY UNKNOWN web applications such as CGIs and PHP pages. Simply put, it attempts to find vulnerabilities in all web applications on a host without knowing anything about the applications. Modern CGI scanners scan a host for CGIs with known vulnerabilities. screamingCobra is able to 'find' the actual vulnerabilities in ANY CGI, whether it has been discovered before or not.

. funding and contributions

With the holiday season soon approaching, we're running low on funding. Not getting as many clients as in the previous months and we're needing some donations to continue our pace with development of bsd-airtools and a few other projects that will soon be released. We're mainly looking for sponsors and/or investors to help fund our work, but any little bit helps. We'll also be forming as a non-profit organization within the next few weeks so we can receive non-taxable donations, so please stay tuned and we gratefully thank all of you for your support thus far.
Please contact us if you are possibly interested in investing/sponsoring dachb0den's research and development or would like to make a contribution monetary, hardware or otherwise.

. bsd-airtools v0.2-rc1 available over cvs
Thanks to don4r of bsdguru.com, we now have cvs setup for bsd-airtools. I currently have bsd-airtools v0.2-rc1 and dstumbler v1.0-rc2 available over anoncvs. Additionally, Jason Aras has been kind enough to work on porting prismdump to *bsd and will be contributing his modified version to the next version of bsd-airtools (should be committed to cvs within the next couple days or so). Some other tools that you can look forward to having bsd support in the near future will include ethereal, wepcrack, and possibly wavemon. Additionally, many applications that use prismdump output files should be automatically supported without much need for modification once the prismdump port is published.
